Overview

Where Learning Safety Feels Like Play

I redesigned all 12 Champion Program guides — each 20 to 35 pages — for volunteers teaching children and families about essential safety topics like weather, water, and fire safety. As part of the Disney Wild About Safety Champion Program, each guide is filled with activities, songs, coloring sheets, and spot-the-difference pages that make safety education fun and easy for volunteers to bring to life.

Healthy & Fit: Physical Wellbeing

On The Go: Driving Safety

Online: Internet Safety

Honest & Real: Good Character

In The Water: Water Safety

Learnings

This project taught me how to design educational content that feels approachable and hands-on rather than purely instructional. Reworking all 12 Champion Program guides pushed me to think critically about structure and flow, ensuring that volunteers — regardless of experience level — could easily teach complex safety topics like weather, water, and fire safety. I also learned how to balance consistency with variety, adapting a cohesive visual style across many different topics, page counts, and activity types while keeping every guide clear and engaging.
